Quién soy

Fanuel Hanán Díaz, (Venezuela, 1966) Licenciado en Letras por la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. Magister Scientiarum en Ciencias y Artes Aplicadas, mención Televisión, por la Universidad José María Vargas. Coordinó el Departamento de Selección de Libros para Niños y Jóvenes del Banco del Libro y dirigió la revista de literatura infantil Parapara. 

Ha sido miembro del Jurado en diferentes concursos nacionales e internacionales y en la Bienal de Ilustración de Bratislava. Ha dado talleres y dictado conferencias en diferentes países de América Latina y de Europa. 

Ganó el Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil con La basura...problema de todos (Fundalibro 1997), y Pipo Kilómetro en Venezuela (CENAL, 2005). Ha sido incluido en la Lista de Honor IBBY con Cartas a Leandro, 2008. Es autor del ensayo Leer y mirar el libro álbum: ¿un género en construcción? (Norma 2007) y de diferentes libros de no ficción para niños entre los que destacan Semillas (Tecolote, 2007) que fue incluido en el programa de la SEP, México. Teórico e investigador en Literatura Infantil. Profesor invitado del Máster Gretel de Literatura Infantil y autor y profesor del curso virtual de Escritura Creativa del CERLALC. Recibió en dos oportunidades la beca de la Internationale Jugendbibliothek de Alemania para desarrollar investigaciones sobre procesos de impresión en libros antiguos para niños. Con el apoyo de la Embajada de Francia realizó una investigación sobre la obra de Julio Vernes en Amiens y Nantes. Editor de la revista Barataria de Literatura Infantil Latinoamericana. Actualmente es director de producción de Editorial Larense y desarrolla propuestas de investigación como Independent Scholar. 

Graduate in Literature by the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas. Magister Scientiarum in Science and Applied Arts, honorific mention in Television, by the Universidad José María Vargas. Coordinated the Department of Selection of Books for Children and Young People of Banco del Libro and directed the literature magazine Parapara. Has been member of the jury in several national and international children’s literature contests and in the Biennal of Illustration Bratislava. Has given lectures and workshops in several Latin American and European countries.

Was awarded the Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil (National Children’s Literature Award) with La basura... problema de todos (Garbage… Everyone’s Problem) (Fundalibro 1997) and Pipo kilómetro en Venezuela (CENAL, 2005), and has been included in IBBY’s Honour List with Cartas a Leandro, 2008 (Letters to Leandro). He is also the author of the essay Leer y mirar el libro álbum; ¿Un género en construcción? (Looking and Seeing the Picture-Book. A genre in construction?) (Norma, 2007), and of several non-fiction books for children among which Semillas (Seeds) (Tecolote, 2007) stands out for being included in the SEP (Ministry of Education) program in Mexico.

Theorist and researcher of Children’s Literature. Guest professor of Gretel Children’s Literature Master and author and professor of the virtual course Escritura Creativa (Creative Writing) of CERLALC. He received the Internationale Jugendbibliothek (Munich) scholarship to develop research on the printing processes of ancient children’s books. With the support of the French Embassy he carried out a research on Jules Verne’s work in Amiens and Nantes.

Editor of Latin American children’s literature magazine Barataria. Currently holds the position of Production Director of Larense Publishing House, and develops research proposals as an independent scholar.
